Head over heels She used to be such a misery Now her man’s come along, and there ain’t nothing wrong Her unhappiness was such a stress Now we can relax ‘cos she’s flat on her back ‘Cos she’s head over heels, she says it’s for real Head over heels in love Yes she’s head over heels, you know how it feels Head over heels in love She was such a pain, a terrible drain Now love has come, well out comes the sun Make your love last, forget the past We couldn’t stand another flash in the pan ‘Cos she’s head over heels, she says it’s for real Head over heels in love Yes she’s head over heels, you know how it feels Head over heels in love Some people are happy, some are sad Some are just crazy, and others are mad But no matter how odd you think that you are Somewhere out there you’ll find your shooting star And you’ll be head over heels, you’ll say it’s for real Head over heels in love Yes you’ll be head over heels, you’ll know how it feels Head over heels in love

Travelling shoes. Pack up your suitcase mama, put on your travelling shoes Pack up your suitcase mama, put on those travelling shoes Just pack up all your little problems, stop giving me your blues Take all your troubles mama, please take them far away Take all your troubles mama, please take them far away I just can’t stand it every night and every day I’m not unsympathetic gal to all your complaints I’m not unsympathetic gal to all your complaints I got a lot of patience, but not the patience of a saint Your glass is half empty; mine is half full Your glass is half empty; mine is half full We ain’t going nowhere cos when I push you pull Catch the seven thirty train, I got you a one way ticket paid Catch the seven thirty train, I got you a one way ticket paid How can I learn to miss if you just won’t go away When I wake up in the morning, I wanna find you gone When I get up in the morning, I wanna find you gone Don’t want nobody else to be here, I’m happier on my own So, pack up your suitcase mama, put on those travelling shoes Yes, pack up your suitcase mama, put on your travelling shoes And pack up all your little problems, stop giving me your blues

Sail into the sunset Time for you to make a break - it’s your happiness at stake Just because she has to leave - there’s no need for you to grieve What is it that ties you down? Who is it that needs you ‘round? Why is your life in such a bind? Leave your harbour far behind Sail into the sunset with your baby in your arms Sail into the sunset, you won’t come to any harm So won’t you take my advice - she ain’t gonna ask you twice Pack your bags and close the door on the life you had before Sail into the sunset with your baby in your arms Sail into the sunset, you won’t come to any harm Some of us never get the chance To break free from our circumstance So set your sails for a new life ahead Don’t you know you’re a long time dead What is it that ties you down? Who is it that needs you ‘round? Pack your bags and close the door on the life you had before Sail into the sunset with your baby in your arms Sail into the sunset, you won’t come to any harm Sail into the sunset, you can weather any storm Sail into the sunset with your baby in your arms Sail into the sunset. Sail into the sunset

Red to blonde Red to blonde, significant bond Strength revives, feeling alive First interaction, simple attraction Like cogs on a wheel, so easy to feel So warm and so strong, like the breath of a song The soul and the tone reached deep to my bones Red to blonde, significant bond Strength revives, feeling alive Life can deliver what you never expect Hopes and dreams so cruelly wrecked Forcing a struggle through a living hell There seems no solution, no magic spell When darkness descended I could not get free Burrowing down in my own misery I needed a friend whose ear I could lend Texts I could get and texts I could send Red to blonde, significant bond Strength revives, staying alive And now as things change, easing the pain Friendship remains that flows with the grain All that is broken will surely mend I owe it in spades to that easy friend Red to blonde, significant bond Strength revives, staying alive. Red to blonde, significant bond Strength revives, staying alive I’m staying alive.

Silver Lining Things went wrong and I can't see no way to put them right Things got broke and fell apart I could not see the light I'm fed up with feeling down I'm tired of being blue I don't want to stay so low I'm gonna start anew I'm gonna smile, I'm gonna grin, gonna be so happy Get out of this mess I'm in I'm checking out the silver lining on every little cloud Don't care if I look a fool I'm just not that proud Fighting off the demons that try to bring me down I'm gonna find the fastest way to turn my life around I'm gonna smile, I'm gonna grin, gonna be so happy Get out of this mess I'm in The evening that we parted is etched upon my mind I should have seen it coming, they say that love is blind Don't worry about me, I'll be doing just fine Everything gets better with the passing of time It takes more muscles to make a frown than it does to smile Cheerful people always go that extra mile I'm looking on the bright side it's how I'm gonna be My future is a rosy one, just you wait and see I'm gonna smile, I'm gonna grin, gonna be so happy Get out of this mess I'm in I'm gonna smile, I'm gonna grin, gonna be so happy Get out of this mess I'm in

Ball with no bounce When the weakness in your body makes you want to cry And it just gets worse the more you try You’re losing the words, concentration is shot You’re fingers are icy but your head is hot When you tell me your head is glued to the bed When you cannot remember what was just said When the slightest glow of light is much too bright And you’ve had another hopeless sleepless night What makes them think you need a shrink What makes them think you need a shrink to make you better Like a ball with no bounce, like a cat with no pounce Your energy just fades away We wish someone knew what they need to do To put right what is wrong with you (put right what is wrong with you) When your body is aching and your throat is so sore And your brain fog’s so bad you can’t talk any more When your head is reeling and your eyes are half closed And the lousy feeling in your stomach just grows What makes them think you need a shrink What makes them think you need a shrink to make you better Psychiatrists say that you’re really OK We just need to retrain your brain With some CBT or with NLP And we’ll soon have you right as rain (soon have you right as rain) When the weakness in your body makes you want to cry And it just gets worse the more you try When your body is aching and your throat is so sore And your brain fog’s so bad you can’t talk any more What makes them think you need a shrink What makes them think you need a shrink to make you better What makes them think you need a shrink What makes them think you need a shrink to make you better

Last Cigarette That perfect autumn morning beside the hot dog stand Electricity when you held my hand A bitter winter followed, snow thick on frozen ground Sweet harmony in that spark of love we found Electricity – spark from hand to hand Electricity – more than we could stand Electricity – something killed the light Electricity – but something wasn’t right, no something wasn’t right Christmas came and New Year passed with all good resolution But I think we’d worked out even then the inevitable conclusion We smoked too much and drank too much that night in early spring The things I said just broke your heart and ruined everything Electricity – spark from hand to hand Eccentricity – more than we could stand Serendipity – something killed the light Electricity – all we did was fight, yes all we did was fight Why is it relationships don’t work out as we plan? What tricks does stupid cupid play with quiver in his hand? I thought this was the special one, would stand the test of time I wanted to be yours forever, you forever mine Now looking in your weeping eyes, so sad but so wise I knew that it was over, no way to recover With such sad regret I can never forget That very last, that last cigarette Electricity – spark from hand to hand Eccentricity – more than we could stand Serendipity – something killed the light What a bloody pity - we broke up that night, oh we broke up that night

Fantasy world He’s living in a fantasy world, delusion, confusion His misery destroys his head, finds love in fantasy instead He knows that she, can never be, more than a friend, obviously Impossible relationship, come on man, just get a grip! But he’s living in a fantasy world, invention, illusion. (He says) “Hey old brain, set me free Bring me back to reality Can’t go on, but can’t ignore Just can’t stand it anymore” Living in a fantasy world, imagination, frustration When eye meets eye, he can’t deny, makes him realize, he’s still alive Behold her curve of shoulder, wants to hold her, never told her Platonic hug, a touch of hips, he’s just not equipped to deal with it Living in a fantasy world, invention, illusion Living in a fantasy world, endorphins, dopamine He craves her touch, yearns her glance, though he knows he has no chance Hormones in the blood spark jealousy, acid pain, unexpectedly He’s got to stop, this fantasy, piles unhappiness on his misery Living in a fantasy world, invention, illusion Ain’t it a shame that you get no gain For taking aim at what you can’t attain It’s all in a dream, and he can see It can never be his reality Living in a fantasy world, delusion, confusion Impossible relationship, come on man, got to get a grip! Impossible relationship, come on man, just get a grip! Impossible relationship, come on man, get a grip!

9 Letters 03:16
Letters Why the hell did you burn all my letters? Why the hell did you burn all those letters? Did you think it would make you feel better? Letters from lovers, letters from family Letters from long lost friends who used to write to me Your jealousy was burning like a naked flame My past life can’t hurt you, you know it’s not to blame Why the hell did you burn all my letters? Why the hell did you burn all those letters? Did you think it would make you feel better? Your drinking drove me crazy, that whiskey made you mad But your loving was like honey spread all across my bread There was just too much bitterness messing with your head But burning all my letters just killed my love stone dead, stone dead Why the hell did you burn all my letters? Why the hell did you burn all those letters? Did you think it would make you feel better? Pretty picture postcards and special birthday notes Memories of loving and poems my friends wrote Personal or impersonal you didn’t seem to care You just burned everything that you found there Why the hell did you burn all my letters? Why the hell did you burn all my letters? Did you think it would make you feel better? Your drinking drove me crazy, that whiskey made you mad But your loving was like honey spread all across my bread There was just too much bitterness messing with your head But burning all my letters just killed my love stone dead

Daily life People departed, people returned People got cheated, got their fingers burned Couples made love while domestic strife Was happening in kitchens from Cornwall to Fife It all seems so very wrong, that daily life just went on The day he had no more to say, The day that old Bo passed away. Some people were laughing, some people forlorn Some people got lucky, some new ones got born Some people got paid for what they hadn’t earned Some people forgot the lessons they’d learned It all seems so very wrong, that daily life just went on The day he had no more to say, The day that old Bo passed away. Your granddaddy told me when I was 20 years of age Every day of your life you turn a new page Time moves on and the forks in the road Are now your decisions, I can’t carry your load It all seems so very wrong, that daily life just went on The day he had no more to say, The day that old Bo passed away. The tide comes in onto every shore Washing away what was there once before Footsteps are covered and new ones are made The passing of time so clearly displayed It all seems so very wrong, that daily life just went on The day he had no more to say, The day that old Bo passed away. It all seems so very wrong, that daily life just went on The day he had no more to say, The day that old Bo passed away

Bearded Bard Blues Walking down that road with my head in my hands Appearing in the distance I saw a big bearded man It was the bearded bard, yes that bearded bard And the beard on this bard was just a visual guard We stopped on that road just to pass the time of day He said “People think I’m crazy”, I didn’t know what to say He talked in riddles and he talked in rap and rhyme He said it helps to talk about these things from time to time He talked of Gemma’s Nettle man and some trouble he had with fish Avoiding death by squirrel was his greatest wish He mentioned reptile brains and a house full of toads And digging up the gardens in Tan-y-Bwlch Road He said the bedroom tax was just a crock of shit And he didn’t trust the government as far as he could spit He told me ‘bout a bitch called Erin Brockovitch And a supermarket shop that sold lobster with tits He said I rock too hard for a bearded bard And the beard on this bard is a visual guard To behind the beard and the tangled mind Like hairs on the beard of a bard like me So we dance in the light of a moonlit night And the moon shines its light on the moonlit sight Of a bard with a beard in the light of the moon And the moonlit beard of a bard Moonlit beard of a bard, moonlit beard of a bard And the beard on this bard was just a visual guard Moonlit beard of a bard, moonlit beard of a bard And the beard on this bard was just a visual guard
